the truth about gratitude

Gratitude.

Enlightenment came through in prayer time this morning around gratitude. I have been writing my gratitude every morning for several years now. It flows very easily and can look varied. Sometimes mundane, other times, ecclesiastical.

As I dive deeper into my mystical natural, I am finding illuminations at many turns. This morning it was in the natural state of feeling and expressing gratitude. What bubbles up when being grateful? Gratitude for my marriage? For my partners willingness to embark on this spiritual quest with me? For my strong body and health? For the gift of motherhood and my two beautiful ochildren? Our home? Our families? Vacation time? They all “seem” virtuous aspects of life to be thankful for. But is that true?

All of those facets of life are in comparison to lack? They are in reference to what? Those that do NOT have health, or marriage, or children, or a home etc? Who is to say that one offers more value over another? Lack can cause suffering but abundance doesn’t alleviate it! We know this. The great teachers have showed us the path. Only connection to Creator and our interior divine nature soothes the pain of lack.

Gratitude is about the gifts bestowed upon us from Divine. It looks like—

Thank you Gd for your graces.

Thank you for your love of us all.
Thank you for your unending well of forgiveness.
Thank you for your availability to all of us as we seek you.
Thank you for your blessings of spirit and your guidance through the mystical laws.
Thank you for revealing your truth to us.
Thank you for finding us worthy in your favor.
Thank you for this life cycle to learn and evolve and grow closer to you Lord.
Thank you.

Onward I march. 🎺
